Started this at 2AM because Kuroshou won't leave the mind. You know what that means

Okay I think we all collectively agree that they're AT LEAST ex-lovers turned rivals right? But can I propose one-sided lovers before and after. Tf do I mean?

I mean a ten year old Kuroo who's too much of a wuss to confess his crush on the new neighbor and instead makes him a flower crown, which Daishou accepts because hey! Someone wants to be his friend and his new classmates are still being cautious around him. Kuroo is over the moon and talks Kenma's year off about how Daishou accepted it and whenever their together he holds his hand, shares his bento box (he ends up taking Daishou's portion of carrots because the boys face crumbles when faced with the food) and even kisses his cheek! He's just as much a volleyball nut as Kuroo is and on days when Kenma can't hang out, he finds himself in front of a clunky TV with Daishou beside him, watching–then re-watching old recorded matches. Kuroo is dead sure their going to grow old together and complain about the weather and whatever else old people do together until Daishou suddenly up and transfers to another school, leaving Kuroo stranded with no new landline or contact information in genral to reach the boy. He's left heartbroken, and when he see's Daishou again across the court, he may or may not let a bit of that childhood betrayal fuel his new rivalry.

I mean a 19-20 year old Daishou who finds out a little too late that he and Kuroo applied for the same university, and now shares a dorm; two rooms, a single bathroom, a closet sized kitchen and the concept of a living room, with him. Their rivarly had mellowed out after their 3rd year, and inbetween graduating, wasting a handfull of weekends trying to figure out what he wanted to do with his life and parting ways with Mika, Daishou couldn't find it in himself to be as petty as he used to be. Kuroo seemed to be on the same wavelength, since all they trade are snide, one off comments or underhanded compliments on a bad day.

They start to co-exist, in a weird 'two different puzzle sets that can be miss n' matched because their templates are the same' way. Kuroo is a early bird, and by the time Daishou wakes up for afternoon classes, he finds breakfast (More like brunch) left in the microwave. Daishou tends to run by the store on his way back and this turns into him handling groceries. Their texts switch from randomass memes Kuroo finds from who-knows-where to random gossip they pick up on around campus. Sometime after mid-term exams, busting their only heater and finding a DvD player for cheap, they start spending Friday nights watching camp horror movies. Sometimes it's Kuroo justifying early 70s movie direction and sometimes its Daiahou guessing correctly the entire plot after ten minutes of watching but always, without fail, it ends with Kuroo draped across Daishou's shoulder and definitely ruining his one good sweater with drool (he doesn't mind as much as he should).

After three months of this, sprinkled with minute touches, catching lingering eyes and living with eachother instead of around one another, Daishou steals one of Kuroo's hoodies; one that's well-worn and he had no reason to take if he was still just a roommate. Kuroo hums when he sees, mumbles a quick 'it suits you' that sounds near bashful before scurrying away and Daiahou is satisfied ("over the moon's more like it" Mika had snickered).

Nothing major changes between them after that. Breakfast is still made for him when he wakes, but he throws some effort into waking up early on Mondays to watch Kuroo cook (and stare at his ass in running shorts), during grocery runs he picks up Kuroos favorite snacks and keeps the cupboard stocked. Simple 'make it home safe?', 'you look good in that' and affectionate cat gifs start to get mixed into their other messages. Kuroo starts suggesting cafes/restaurants and hole-in-the-wall confectioners to visit together. It was almost cute how he'd stammered through his first rec and looked genuinely surprised when Daishou agreed. Movie nights are warmer now. More contact and staring and awkward comments that Daishou doesn't look into. It's fun, being with Kuroo, and he's willing to wait for the rooster head to get comfortable with this–them–at his own pace.

That is, until two months pass and the guy has yet to even kiss him. Daishou's a patient guy, especially when it comes to relationships, but he's still just as human and if the idiot won't initiate anything he will. During the next movie night, he throws whatever into the DvD player and lets exactly 38 minutes pass (yes he counts) before turning over, waits for Kuroo to look back and closes that treacherous distance between them. Its nothing deep, just a peck on the lips, but when he draws back he finds Kuroo red in the face and just staring at him as if Daishou had grown a second head.

Now Daishou's confused, and his mind is slowly beginning to wonder if Kuroo was some weird 'sex before marriage' puritan until his dear sweet boyfriend of nearly two months mutters "I thought you were with Mika–"

Okay that's it no more I went to sleep at 3AM, then woke up to finish the rest of this lmao. Definitely got some basic grammer smudged since I didn't check nothing. If u care they end up half-arguing, half-explaining what they were thinking this entire time and at the end of it Kuroo smooches Daishou a whole bunch like the clingy cat bf he is.

sakuatsu week day 6: paranormal / supernatural

atsumu is sitting on the engawa, staring at the clouds, when a harsh foot hits his side and shoves him to the ground. "ow!" he glares at his assailant. "what the hell, 'samu?"

"yer gonna make inari-sama cry with yer language." his brother is holding a broom, gray-tipped tail flickering in annoyance. "get outta the way, i'm tryna clean."

grumbling, he adjusts his kimono and moves aside for osamu to continue sweeping. their days are idyllic like this, endlessly peaceful with the occasional spat caused by the youkai living in the area. recently, a pair of youkai have moved in from the next town over, after their home was destroyed, and their days have become increasingly more entertaining, especially with a certain dark-haired, brooding kama itachi around.

"ya got that look on yer face. what dumb shit are ya thinkin' 'bout?"

"watch it. inari-sama can't cry 'bout both o' us." atsumu looks to the sky. "i was wonderin' if i should do somethin' fer omi."

osamu stops his sweeping. "why?"

"just ta make 'im feel welcomed! motoya comes by more often than he does, so i thought it's 'cause he don't like us, or he's scared o' us." as inarizaki's guardians, their shrine is open to all youkai, either as a sanctuary or to hang around. suna does that often enough.

"yet not romantic at all. i bet ya'd give 'im a knife or somethin'."

"he got his own weapons.” atsumu’s ear twitches. “although...we do got some cool knives…"

"i was kiddin'. don't give 'im a knife."

atsumu frowns at him. "then what should i do?"

his twin hums contemplatively, broom grazing the wooden floorboards. "tooru said those spring lilies are in season. ya could bring 'im there. it's on a cliff, so it looks pretty."

"an' how did ya learn 'bout that, dear brother? did someone take ya?" atsumu wiggles his eyebrows suggestively. "someone like sunarin?"

"shaddup, or i'm gonna whack ya." osamu brandishes his broom, and atsumu jumps away with a laugh, turning his back.

"i'm gonna find omi!"

his brother shouts after him, but he can't hear him as he transforms in a puff of smoke, shifting into his fox form. with light feet, he bounds across the shrine grounds, down the stone steps, and through the forest.

many youkai live in the surrounding area under their watch, or the western forest under suna's, or the southern forest under daishou's. the itachi settled wherever that kiyoomi deemed clean, which happened to be the trees around the shrine.

he pads through the undergrowth until he finds their home, a sturdy oak tree. atsumu climbs the trunk and eventually finds kiyoomi in his humanoid form, a beautiful young man with dark curls, two moles over his eye, wearing a yellow and green kimono. he looks up from his book, eyes widening. "atsumu-sama." reverence makes his words rushed. "why are you-"

atsumu flicks his ear, then transforms into his own humanoid form. "c'mon, omi, i told ya ta drop the honorific. whatcha readin'?"

"i don't wish for inari-sama to smite me for disrespecting her guardians." he shows him his book. "it's a travelogue from a youkai in the karasuno crow pack. i yearn to travel as widely as they have."

"don't itachi travel 'round?"

“a bit. we’re often in threes, so it isn’t safe for us right now. motoya has been looking for a third to join us before we can travel.”

"oh." atsumu's voice drops. "does that mean ya'll leave afterwards?"

kiyoomi hesitates. “we may , but the forest is our home. we haven’t been here for long, but the hospitality we’ve received is…touching.”

"that's good. 'samu an' i do our best." atsumu smiles at him. "there's someplace that i wanna take ya, if yer free. how ‘bout it?”

“where?”

“the other side o’ the mountain! close ta tooru an’ his gang, if ya met ‘em before.”

“that’s rather far.”

atsumu grins. “not fer me!” he leaps from the branch and into the air, enveloped in another puff of smoke as he transforms into his true kitsune form, an elegant, white-furred creature with golden eyes, five tails tipped with gold. he hovers beside the tree, head lowered for kiyoomi. “climb on. i’ll get us there.”

he receives a bewildered look in exchange. “are you…is this all right? for me to…”

“i’m offerin’, aren’t i? ‘course it’s all right!” amusement rumbles deep in his voice. “behold the true power o’ atsumu-sama!”

after another moment’s hesitation, kiyoomi pockets his book and carefully jumps on, hands splayed gently across his scruff. atsumu takes off, trees rustling behind them.

he soars through the sky, reaches the next mountain in a matter of minutes. his eyes scan the mountainside for the spring lilies, spotting a patch of white. he starts his descent. “get ready ta jump!”

“hah?”

atsumu transforms again, and his humanoid form freefalls through the air before landing in the clearing. kiyoomi yelps after him, landing in his arms with a grunt. atsumu throws his head back with a laugh, a chortle that echoes around them. “ain’t it pretty?” he asks, jerking his chin toward the flowers.

the spring lilies create a blanket of white through the grass, waltzing with the wind. coupled with the fresh air and pure silence, it’s like they’ve been transported into their own world.

“atsumu-sama.” kiyoomi’s voice is hesitant. “you can put me down.”

oh. “oh!” atsumu quickly lowers him to the ground. kiyoomi straightens his kimono and takes in the view. “tooru loves flowers, so ya can find these patches ‘round his territory. we get together fer drinkin’ parties a lot in the spring, like how humans have hanami. hey, let’s come back with drinks – we can bring motoya an’ samu, an’ maybe sunarin would wanna come–“

“or,” kiyoomi cuts in gently, “we can enjoy the view for ourselves.” he moves forward, leaving him behind.

“yes. yes, we definitely can,” atsumu mumbles to himself, hurrying after him.

they find a rock to climb to the top and admire the sea of white. atsumu watches kiyoomi, admires the way his eyes widen at the flowers, the tiny smile that softens his expression. he could watch him forever, he realizes.

“if ya ever travel ‘round,” he ventures slowly, “i hope ya won’t forget all the sights that inarizaki has.”

“of course not. i won’t forget them in a hurry.” kiyoomi turns to him, unspoken words hanging between them. “thank you, atsumu-sama.”

“atsumu. please, omi.”

“fine. thank you, atsumu.”

he smiles. “here’s ta more sights ‘till then.” they return to the flowers, quiet spectators of their dance.

On one side we have Oikawa who definitely does not trust or seemingly like him, and then we have Noya (I think?) who suggested the name Ukai’s army so he probably has some degree of trust/fondness for him. 1.) Oikawa-he doesn't trust practically anyone rn outside of his small group of friends and he especially doesn't trust people in authority and 2x especially anyone who was involved in the last war. Oikawa lives in rage and is definitely curently #1 to Stab an Authority Figure in their Sleep

2.) Daishou-this is definitely a lot less than Oikawa but I'd still say he'd be next in list sicne he is 1.) a Slytherin who aren't the most trusting bunch to begin with, 2.) raised around Uncle/Minister who never trusted Ukai and would likely let some of that slip, 3.) Knows how much of a fake his Uncle/Minister is and likely thinks Ukai as the other major war general hero is much the same

3.) Iwaizumi-oddly not because of that thing with the 2nd Task but that didn't help. Nah, Iwa-chan still definitely holds a grudge about that thing with Oikawa and the veritaserum from the begginning of 4th...even tho technically Oikawa took that by semi-choice

4.) Kuroo-similar to Daishou, he's way too familiar with politicians with fake public faces. Nothing really aganist Ukai in particular, just not big on public people who everyone seems to praise (which Ukai definitely was as a war general hero before this year with all the bad press aganist Hogwarts)

She desn't really know the Headmaster but has genrally positive feelings towards the Hogwarts faculty

13. ) Yamaguchi- 3rd least trusting of Crows, too much time around Tsuki. Still has complicated feelings about 3rd story stuff. Pretty similar to Ennoshita, but Yamaguchi was raised more in the wizarding world so still has more of the Ukai-Great-War-General vibes

22.) Suga-Is so adamantly aganist his family's legacy that it fuels a bit of a blind side of viewing Headmaster's faults. He really does have some very secific blinders that come on when it comes to his family legacy. Overly trust figure of the oposite side is likely one of them.

23.) Noya- 2x admiration since Ukai also helped his uncle get in when he was a student and then helped Asahi and just in general has been just very cool about helping students of various creature legacies (like veelas, werewolves, dhampir, etc) into Hogwarts. Also Ukai's a war hero

Was Nobunaga actually already the “shogun” without having the “Sei’i Taishougun” title?

This was a theory that I found while trying to study the bureaucratic protocols and norms of the Sengoku. It suggested that Nobunaga’s reign did too have the approval from the imperial court, and he didn’t need to take over the “Sei’i Taishougun” title from shogun Yoshiaki.

After ousting Yoshiaki, Nobunaga was awarded the titles Dainagon (Major counselor) and Ukonoe no Daishou (General of the Right, also sometimes shortened as simply “Udaishou”). These are titles that the shogun traditionally also held, as the “Sei’i Taishougun” title is something of a unique title that is separate from the imperial hierarchy. Upon these appointment, Nobunaga was allowed to be addressed by the honourific address that usually only the shogun has: ue-sama.  

Some people thought that this means the imperial court has acknowledged that Yoshiaki’s authority is over, and Nobunaga is in charge now, even though he does not have the “Sei’i Taishogun” position at this point. 

The logic for that theory was that in that time period, the Udaishou was the highest imperial office that someone of the samurai class could have, hence the tradition of having the shogun also hold that post. The higher ranking Sakonoe no Daishou/Sadaishou post, the General of the Left, was traditionally held by the noble houses.

Shogun Yoshiaki and his brother Yoshiteru before him did not have Dainagon and Udaishou titles, and the last Ashikaga shogun to also have the aforementioned titles was their father Yoshiharu. Yoshiaki and Yoshiteru’s official court title was only up to the Sakonoe no Chuujou (Lieutenant-General of the Left), one rank under the Taishou.

Because in the imperial hierarchy Nobunaga’s Udaishou post outranks Yoshiaki’s Sakonoe no Chuujou, the theory posits that he is already acknowledged by the imperial court as the new ruler replacing Yoshiaki. That is, he is the “new shogun” (i.e the samurai ruler of the land), even though he does not actually have the literal “shogun” title. 

What will change if this theory turns out to be true? 

For one, it further confirms the idea that Nobunaga is not as wildly "out there” as most people thought he was. He still operated within the standard norms of the time period and adhered to the established traditions, and didn’t just smash his way through the court and government without regard to the customs. 

Also, if this theory is true, it would debunk all the Honnouji conspiracies that involve any variation of “the imperial court feared Nobunaga’s power/ambition”. If Nobunaga ruled with the approval of the imperial court, then all that backstage plotting makes no sense. 

And the last thing is that this theory being true would also further lend credibility to the other theory saying that Nobunaga wished to return the power to the emperor and do away with the concept of a “shogunate rule”. After all, the specialty-designation “shogun” title was the very proof of the samurai rule breaking away from and undermining the imperial court. Nobunaga choosing to not take the shogun post, and instead adhering to the “standard” imperial court ranks, was thought to be proof that he’s returning to the old imperial rule rather than following  the path of the “samurai/shogunate rule”.

Of course this is just a theory, and it only spawns more theories and what-ifs. I still find this worthwhile to consider because I’m realising that I don’t actually know what the rules and norms of the government of that time period is like. Even though in practice the daimyou and other local rulers largely disregard the central government (the shogun and the emperor both), I do see proof that the various rites and protocols still has to be performed. It means that the bureaucracy still matters to some degree, and learning about how this whole system works is something that is necessary to properly understand the Sengoku environment.

Daisho shiered as chills ran down his back, it was Halloween night and it was cold as hell. The Nohebi team had decided to go trick-or-treating to build morale but it got boring quickly. Some wanted to hit up the party that Aoba Johsai was throwing and some wanted to catch the last train to Shiratorizawa Academy’s party.

“Why don’t we split up? So everyone gets what they want.” Kuguri suggested as he adjusted his letterman jacket. Coincidentally the entire group agreed to go their separate ways which is how Daisho ended up walking home.

He wore his volleyball uniform for his Halloween costume, his green and white windbreaker being the only source of warmth for him. His parents were on a trip and wouldn’t be back for a week, meaning he had the house to himself for a while. Blowing his bang out of the view of his eye, he admired the decorations in his neighborhood. There were carved pumpkins on people’s doorsteps but people were going inside for the night it seemed, as there wasn’t anybody on their doorsteps and no kids trick or treating. Lights were turned off and music was lowered to be barely audible. 

He sighed and entered through his door, noticing that his lights were on. He didn’t remember leaving them on but he assumed that maybe he forgot, he was like that. Going to the kitchen, he took off his windbreaker to embrace the warmth of his A/C and opened the fridge. He took out his leftover steak and fries and placed it into the microwave to warm up but before he could press the buttons, his phone rang. It was an unknown number so assuming it was spam, he ignored it and heated up his food. 

The calls didn’t end there, whoever was calling was relentless and it annoyed him to no end. 

“Hello??” He said, finally answering the phone. There was silence before heavy breathing on the other line, which creeped him out. He was about to hang up the phone when the person spoke, they had the type of voice you would hear on the radio.

“Do you like scary movies?”

Daisho rolled his eyes, “What's the point? They're all the same. Some stupid killer stalking some big-breasted girl who can't act and who is always running up the stairs when she should be running out the front door. It's insulting.”

The person on the other line laughed and clicked his tongue, “Are you alone in the house?”

“...Who are you?”

“The question isn’t, who am I? The question is, where am I?”

Daisho’s grip around his phone tightened as if he were going to use it as a brick to throw at the person. He grabbed a knife from his counter before dimming the lights.

“So where are you?” He asked as he observed the hallway.

“On your front porch.” Daisho walked to his front porch and looked through the peephole. Not seeing anyone.

“You’re a liar, no one’s there.” Daisho laughed and was about to hang up the phone but it was as if the person could sense it. 

“Don’t you dare hang up.”

Daisho scoffed and put the phone on speaker, “What’re you going to do if I do?”

“Don’t test me, Daisho.” He hung up the phone.

He laughed at the man and placed his phone on the kitchen island. “What an idiot.” He was thinking that the man could be one of his friends pranking him for not cleaning up the volleyballs during practice. He put the knife back into the drawer before turning to the window near the back door, seeing a shadow quickly disappear. 

His blood ran cold and in an attempt to save himself, he shut off the lights completely. This caused the backdoor lights to turn on and reveal a tall man dressed in a Ghostface costume, tilting his head and holding a knife. He was glad that thanks to the glass, the man couldn’t see him but he knew he was staring. Daisho bolted upstairs, almost tripping over his own feet, and hid under his bed. 

He covered his mouth to hide his gasp when he heard the backdoor open, the alarm going off. But the man turned off the alarm, it had to be someone Daisho knew and had around a lot. Why would someone he loved try to kill him? On Halloween of all days? He closed his eyes as the person hummed throughout the house, tapping his knife on the surfaces he passed by. It was as if he was taunting him, wanting Daisho to try and fight him off.

But Daisho wasn’t that stupid, he knew it would be useless to try and fight off the maniac. God he wished he would’ve gone to one of those parties, then he wouldn’t be in this situation.  

The lights flickered on and off in the hallway, being triggered by movement. The man was walking, pausing, and then walking again. He was giving him time. For what exactly? He didn’t know but it was killing him faster than the knife would have. He approached his bedroom, opened the large door, and stepped onto Daisho’s hardwood floors. The man wore combat boots that looked freshly bought, no scuff marks or anything to identify him with. 

“Daishooo..” The man called to him, walking slowly around his room. “I know you’re here~”

He kept quiet and prayed for this to be quick, for this to be over with already. Suddenly, the man dropped down and peered at Daisho. “GOT YOU!”

Daisho screamed and kicked the man in his stomach, scrambling to get from under his bed. “You fucking creep!” He shouted, running from his bedroom and jumping down the stairs. The man followed close behind, chasing after Daisho like he was a piece of meat. 

He outstretched his hands to attempt to grab a knife from the drawer but the man pulled him back, pressing him against the kitchen island.

He kicked and screamed but the man just laughed, “Get the hell off of me!” The man paid him no mind and slowly took off his mask.

Daisho looked back and saw him… Kuroo. His boyfriend.

“Kuroo?? What the hell?!” He screamed at him as his boyfriend slowly released him. 

“You should be more careful darling. If I was a real murderer you would’ve been dead now.” He smirked and placed the mask on the kitchen island.

Daisho punched his chest, glaring up at him, “You Rooster-haired bastard! I thought I was going to die!” 

Kuroo shrugged and wrapped his arms around his boyfriend's waist, “But you didn't, right? Aren’t I the best boyfriend in the world?”

He was going to take this as his apology but he wanted to see him beg a bit. “Absolutely not, you sicko.” He huffed and crossed his arms, looking away from him. 

“Come on baby, you know you can’t stay mad at me.” Kuroo kissed his cheek, “You look nice tonight.”

Daisho rolled his eyes and looked away from him, “You ruined my dinner.”

“Then I’ll order something for you, you know I got you.” Daisho slapped his chest at that and his boyfriend's laugh echoed through the house. 

“God, he’s such an idiot,” Daisho thought to himself as he grabbed Kuroo by the collar and smashed his lips against his.

Comforting You After A Bad Day

A/N: written with timeskip in mind and a gn reader! <33 I know I know oddball combination of characters but sue me!! I love my boys and wanted to write something soft for them

Word Count: 1,516

― Osamu is no stranger to bad days. He knows the frustration of plays not going right back when he still played volleyball, and some days being the only one managing Onigiri Miya can take it out of him. So he quickly recognizes that same look on your face when you come home, distant and a strained smile that doesn't reach your eyes as you mutter a 'I'm home' and kick your shoes off at the front door. He's already in the kitchen whipping up dinner, something he knows you'll like anyways, but he goes the extra mile and makes you your favorite tea or dessert too so that you can unwind. He'll ask you about it while you're eating, and if you want to talk, then he's all ears, but if not, then he understands. He'll keep an eye on you for the rest of the night, though, running you a bath afterwards, brushing your hair for you and reminding you that he'll always be there for you when you lay down for the night. If you mutter something about not deserving any of this or telling him he doesn't need to do all of this for you, because he must be stressed out too, he won't scold you, but he'll hold you closer, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead and shaking his head.

"Do I need a reason to be nice to my partner? Yer always here for me when I'm upset, so let me do something for ya for once too."

― Ushijima isn't a man of many words, but he's an observant partner. It might not immediately click that you're upset, but he notices when you're quieter, more prone to snap or when your responses become mechanical. Practiced. He sees you grapple with whether to tell him or to leave it be, which breaks his heart because he wants you to lean on him when you need to. If you don't bring it up first, he'd ask you straight up if you're okay, or if something was bothering you. If you want to talk about it, he'll ask if you just want him to listen or if you want advice; because he knows sometimes his words can sound harsh or stilted, even if that's not the intent. If you just want to be near him, then he'll hold you, his strong arms wrapped around your waist and his chin resting on your shoulder. He grounds you as you cuddle, sitting in comfortable silence while you vent, or cry, or let his feather-light touches wash your worries away. Once he can tell you've calmed down for the most part, he'll suggest getting something to eat before bed if it's late, and if you wake up in the morning after he's already gone for the day, you'll notice he left you a neat note and some breakfast on the kitchen table. It doesn't fail to make you smile.

― Tsukishima might notice you're acting off, but 9 times out of 10 he'll wait for you to come to him about it first. It's not to say he doesn't care, he just isn't really sure how to bring it up, especially if he can tell it's something serious. He always supports you from the sidelines, though, even if he doesn't say much, but you'll notice it: he tries not to joke around as much if he notices you aren't responding well to it, he texts you more throughout the day even if he's busy just to make sure you're okay. He wouldn't outright say that's the reason why he's suddenly being more talkative over text, just sending you a quick 'I'm here' or a 'Hey' as a reminder that you aren't alone. He'll buy you your comfort food on his way home when he's out grocery shopping, making up some excuse about it being a 'coincidence' because he grabbed whatever was on sale. You can see right through his bullshit lol. He'll be surprised when you start crying, tears rolling down your eyes as you nearly topple him over with a hug. He'll sigh, pulling you closer to him. But he'll be smiling, running gentle fingers through your hair and letting you sob onto his shirt.

"You know you don't have to bottle things up, right? It's just us."

It might sound hypocritical considering he struggles with that same problem, too, but you know he means well, and that's all that matters.

― Oikawa's first instinct when he notices you're down is to joke around with you. He teases and messes with you a lot, but the second he realizes you're actually upset or just generally having a bad day, that changes. He's an incredibly doting and affectionate partner already, so he'll put down everything he has to do for the day if he has to. After all, you need him, so nothing else could be that important, could it? He knows better than anyone else when you say you're fine and actually mean it versus when you're trying to avoid bothering him, and it stings because you shouldn't have to worry about being a burden. He'd never see you as one. He'll go above and beyond when he's finally able to just spend uninterrupted time with you, getting you anything you want or need even if you don't ask for it because he can tell based on body language alone, whether that's extra blankets, cuddles, or space if you need it. But he won't be far, and if you have a tendency to wait until you're by yourself to break down, he won't let it happen. He'll pat his lap until you come closer, laying on him as he interlocks your fingers and presses a soft kiss to the top of your hand.

"You don't have to hide from me, you know that, right? I don't think any less of you for being human, so let me into your mind sometimes, okay?"

― Daishou, while he can be infuriating and conniving at times, won't do anything to make things worse when he notices you're sad. He's pretty awkward when it comes down to comfort, and if you're nervous about coming to him for help, he makes it his mission to change that. He's got the softest soft spot for you ever, it'd hurt to see you becoming more distant or avoiding him because you don't think your problems important, or you think he'll tease you for it. He cares about you tons, he doesn't like knowing you're hurting and not being able to do anything about it. He knows he can't just will everything in the world that's stressing you out away, but he'll sure try, and if there's anything that you need? You don't have to ask him twice. He's not the best with physical affection, but there's nothing stopping him from pulling you into a random hug or kissing you at any moment. He'll take you on a walk through the park at night if you're up for it, giving your hand gentle squeezes every now and then and stopping to point out flowers that are the same color as your eyes.

"You know you're beautiful, right? Just like these flowers- I'm sure they deal with a lot too, so don't let some rain get to you."

You don't tell him his analogy doesn't really make any sense, because flowers need the rain to grow, but it gets you to laugh, and suddenly the thing that tipped you off doesn't seem so huge anymore. It's the thought that counts, anyway.

― Yaku, similar to Osamu, is likely to catch that you're feeling bad without you having to tell him. He's more vocal about it though, wanting you to talk through what's wrong instead of bottling it up, because he personally knows that stewing in his frustration never gets him anywhere except snapping at people which ends up hurting them. And he'd never want to do that to you, or for you to go through that same cycle. So he won't press you too much, but when you're smiling less and dragging your feet after a particularly bad day, he'll be right there with you. He'll ask you how things went at work and tell you about his first if that helps you feel more comfortable talking to him. He'll sit you down and hold your hand, and once you get out everything you need to, he'll hug you tight. He makes sure you're taken care of first and foremost, ordering takeout if neither of you feels like cooking and giving you a massage. He'll shower with you after, spending the longest time gingerly washing your hair and murmuring sweet things to you while he kisses the suds off your skin.

"I promise you'll be okay, baby. I'll be here if you need me, and if anyone hurts you I'll make sure it never happens again, alright?"
